I put it together with the marks aligned.FOR TECUMSEH ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT PARTS WITH PARTS LOOKUP DIAGRAMS, PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE CLICKING ON THE DIAGRAM. It sputtered and started but would not stay running. I purchased a new cover and gasket, cleaned the crank, reassembled the engine, and put in some fresh synthetic Briggs & Stratton oil and tried to start it. The head, piston, cylinder, conrod bearing all in good shape.Īt one point during the repair both valve lifters slid out of the crankcase and I may have put them back wrong thinking they were the same length. Holding the carb up side down and viewing the float position, the float is closer to carb body on the unhinged side by about 1/8 of a inch. No float setting ajustments were made during rebuild.
